Shunted Into A Siding…….

Last week my health took a sudden turn for the worse, and at the moment any thoughts of modelling have been put on hold as I battle the late, unexpected after effects of radiotherapy. So with nothing new to share it might be a while before the blog is updated. Don’t get me wrong for I’m not giving up, I’m just tired and am in a lot of discomfort. My concentration is also suffering, which doesn’t make for good modelling sessions.

Best Wishes,

Geoff

  1. Being able to share in each other’s hobbies like this also brings us closer together in this sense of humanity beyond the models we talk about. Sorry to read this update. Sounds like things are headed in the direction they need to and you’re facing this time the right way. Take care.

    1. Hello Chris nice to hear from you.

” Sounds like things are headed in the direction they need to and you’re facing this time the right way. Take care”.

Things are indeed moving in the right direction despite my current setback and I remain positive.

Well said I will second that.

    hope for a respite soon.

Get back to modelling soon, I miss your light hearted but sound advice.

    1. Thanks Matt, It is all rather frustrating being sat here unable to do anything other than read, and watch the weeds grow in the garden.

  4. You’re in my thoughts Geoff, I remember my dad having radiotherapy.

I showed your blog to my son, foolishly I fear, and he started asking if we could do something in 7mm!

      1. I actually do bits and pieces in 7mm!

I volunteer at the NRM working with the large 0 gauge model railway. This is the latest project, hopefully the link will work!

I’ve got an outline plan for a 7mm project based on the ironstone railways of the East Midlands – I have a kit for a Hunslet 50550 tank ‘in stock’ for when the times comes!

      2. Hi James,

So you have been dabbling in 7mm scale, have a project in mind and a Hunslet tank to kick start it! That is excellent news and no doubt your son will be excited 🙂

The link works just fine thank you and 1458 looks very nice, those Dapol models scrub up rather well don’t they?

  5. Best wishes . My stepdad is suffering with cancer , an old friend who is much younger than me has a terminal diagnosis, and my wife is in constant agony after recentspinal surgery, with more to come, though thankfully not cancer-related. Take care. The blog can wait.

  6. So sorry to hear about this. I have seen three relatives go through chemotherapy, so I know it can be pretty rough. Best wishes for a good recovery.
